Alone forever? Maybe. But I’m not sad about it.
In this video, I’m talking about something that comes up often with women my age: are we single because we haven’t found the right person, or because we’ve built lives that feel too peaceful to gamble with?
I don’t see this as an “I hate men” conversation. I see it more as an “I love my peace” conversation.
After marriage, an engagement, dating apps, and enough life experience to know what does and does not feel good anymore, I’ve realized that being single is not automatically the sad option. Sometimes it is the honest option. Sometimes it is the peaceful option. Sometimes it is the life you built piece by piece after learning what it feels like to lose yourself in the wrong relationship.
Being Single Does Not Mean Being Closed Off
I still believe love can be beautiful. I miss the ordinary parts of partnership sometimes, like having someone to laugh with, cook with, hold hands with, and share the little details of life with.
But I also know that missing something does not mean accepting the wrong version of it.
At this point in my life, I want love that adds warmth, ease, laughter, and steadiness. I don’t want love that makes my life smaller, louder, or harder to breathe in.
Maybe I’m Not Too Picky
In the video, I talk about dating apps, sleep, money, independence, routines, and why peace matters so much more to me now than it used to.
Maybe I’m too picky.
Or maybe I finally know what my peace costs.
And for right now, the quiet apartment, the tiny dog, the knitting, the simple meals, the slow mornings, and the life I’ve built feel like enough.
