Why I Decided to Share This Part of the Process
There are certain moments in life that feel a little more vulnerable than others. This was one of them.
Starting the mail club felt very different from anything I’ve shared before. It wasn’t just a video or an idea I could talk about and move on from. This was something people would actually hold in their hands and something I created piece-by-piece, hoping it would resonate with someone else.
I almost didn’t film this.
Not because I didn’t want to share it, but because I wasn’t sure how it would come across. There was a lot of second guessing happening behind the scenes. Moments where I stood in my kitchen looking at everything laid out on the counter and wondered if I had taken on too much.
But I’ve noticed something about myself over the years. When I feel that kind of discomfort, that quiet hesitation, that voice asking “are you sure about this", that’s usually the moment I lean in instead of stepping back.
So I picked up the camera anyway.
What You Didn’t See (Or Maybe Felt)
A lot of what went into this first month of the mail club wasn’t just the physical work. It was the mental back and forth.
Designing something. Printing it. Laying it out. Looking at it and wondering if it made sense.
Changing it. Printing it again. Standing there a little too long thinking, "Is this even good?"
That part doesn’t always translate on camera, but it’s there.
And if you’ve ever tried something new, especially something a little outside your comfort zone, you probably know that feeling. The quiet uncertainty that sits in the background while you’re still moving forward.
That’s really why I wanted to share this video. Not just the finished envelopes or the process, but the feeling of being in the middle of something you’re not entirely sure about.
The Creative Side of This Project
One of the biggest surprises for me has been how much I’ve enjoyed the creative side of this.
If you’ve been here for a while, you know my background is not in art. I studied accounting. My brain has always leaned more structured than creative, at least on paper until recently!
But something about this project opened up a different side of that.
Designing the art prints and putting together the prompt cards. Thinking about how each piece would feel when someone opened the envelope. Making something beautiful but also intentional and functional.
It became less about “is this perfect” and more about “does this feel right.”
That shift made a big difference.
The Prompt Cards
Out of everything in the envelope, the prompt cards are probably the most important to me.
They’re simple, but they’re meant to be something you can actually use.
A small pause in your day. A moment to reflect. A way to come back to yourself, even for a minute.
They’re all the same size each month so you can keep them, collect them, and revisit them whenever you need to.
The rest of the envelope supports that feeling, but the prompt card is really the heart of it.

A Small Shift I Noticed
I did notice something as I was putting everything together.
Once I stopped focusing on how many envelopes there were and just focused on the one in front of me, everything felt different. I developed a system and rhythm.
I even did all of this while talking to a friend on the phone and getting caught up with them. Watching a movie. Listening to a podcast and audio books.
It became calming in a way I didn’t expect.
And that felt familiar.

A Small Note
Thank you for being here.
Whether you’re watching the videos, reading this, or opening one of these envelopes in your own home, it means more to me than you probably realize.
This started as a small idea.
And now it’s something real.
I've received so many kind notes, emails, messages, and comments. It feels so good to see this little happy mail club come together and in your hands. So thank you!
